By accessing the Internet from City College Manchester premises you agree to the terms and conditions of the College Network Respectable Use Policy as set out below.

  1. The College offers Internet access to assist you in your studies. Use of the Internet is restricted to Web browsing in conjunction with assignment research, the use of Web mail and on-line support in pursuit of College provision. You are asked not to abuse this privilege. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of Internet access privileges
  2. Some areas of the Internet contain information, in textual or graphic form, which could cause offence to other people or may indeed be illegal to possess. The College Network Respectable Use Policy restricts the right of students to knowingly access such material, to download and/or install software and to use Chat facilities.
  3. The College reserves the right to withdraw the right of Internet access for any student found or believed to be:
    • in possession of material which is sexist, racist or obscene
    • in possession of material promoting discriminatory actions or illegal behaviour
    • using the College Network to obtain such material
    • using the College Network to distribute such material
    • downloading or installing software
    • using Internet Relay Chat (IRC) or Web browser chat
    • playing online games
  4. Using the College Network in any way other than that outlined in paragraph 1 above.
  5. By accessing the Internet from the premises of City College Manchester or from the premises of one of its partners or by signing your Student Contract or by signing your entitlement card you agree that you will abide by the College Network Respectable Use Policy and by any ruling made by designated College authorities regarding the use of network computers both now and at any time during your enrolment as a student of City College Manchester.
